Paulette Altmaier G’79

PaulettePaulette Altmaier G’79 has extensive experience in the high-tech industry, from networking infrastructure to consumer devices.

Currently, Altmaier is vice president and general manager of Dell Cloud Business Applications, the technology company’s integrated customer relationship management solution for growing businesses. Prior to joining Dell in 2009, she held the position of executive vice president at Juniper Networks, reporting directly to the CEO, and led the creation of Juniper’s very successful EX enterprise switching business and product portfolio, which rapidly ascended to number three in market position.

Altmaier joined Juniper Networks in 2005 from Cisco Systems, where, for her nine-year tenure, she served as vice president and general manager. In this role, she was responsible for a $1.5 billion business serving the enterprise, service provider, and small to medium enterprise (SME) markets, and led the creation of many market-leading platforms, including the very successful Integrated Services Router portfolio, which, when launched in 2004, became the fastest-ramping new product line in Cisco history. She was also responsible for creating and driving the strategy that drove integration of leading-edge security into Cisco’s routing infrastructure.

Her extensive technology experience spans the enterprise, datacenter, SME, SP, and consumer markets, and includes Saas, IP telephony/VoIP, wireless, Internet software, security, network infrastructure, and consumer handheld devices.

Altmaier earned a degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and a master’s degree in computer and information science from Syracuse University’s L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science. She holds three patents in communications technology.
