Philip Kaplan ’97

Philip KaplanEntrepreneur Philip Kaplan ’97 is the founder and CEO of online music distribution service, DistroKid.

Founded in 2013, DistroKid has become the world's largest distributor by volume of new music to streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.

Previously, Philip was founder of startup incubator ADHD Labs, whose company TinyLetter was acquired by MailChimp in 2011. Philip was founder and CEO of online ad service AdBrite, and in 2002 wrote the bestselling book, "F'd Companies."

Kaplan graduated from Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies (iSchool) in 1997 with a degree in information management and technology. After graduating, Philip served the school’s Board of Advisors. In 2014, Philip delivered the iSchool's convocation address.
